In 1990, I went to study Japanese at a university in Osaka, Japan. Because my American college had a work program, I was asked by the administration if I would like to teach English as a second language. I said that I had never taught before. The staff informed me that in exchange for my teaching, they would pay for my room and board.
It didn't take me long to respond.
"When can I start?"
It was one of the best decisions of my life.
Since then, I have gone on to teach for Berlitz and headed up the English department for the University of Mexico's Los Angeles office.
Currently, I'm developing a slang dictionary and game while also tutoring and teaching private classes.
I love what I do, and I strive to encourage my students to enjoy learning through fun and interactive lessons.
